cittaIn the 1947 a group of 26 partners established the "Cantina Sociale di Gambellara", and it was the first in the province of Vicenza.
At the beginning the crop was only of few tons, but  during the years it increased very quickly, thanks to a continue expansion of the grape growing in the area and an important increase of the numbers of the partners. So it was necessary to enlarge the winery and increase the receptive capacity.
After 50 years, Gambellara Winery has a 160.000 hl capacity and the annual average crop is about 120.000 q.
Most of the grapes are from Gambellara DOC area, but also from Soave and Colli Berici, which are very close to Gambellara. Therefore Gambellara Winery range of DOC wines are obtained from valuable grapes, ripen on a hilly area which is always been famous to have a very good wine production.
