At the end of the first Millennium under the direction of the Benedectine Monks, the wine growing in Gambellara had an important impulse, abandoning the primitive techniques learned under the Roman Empire. During the centuries the art of the wine making improved, reaching the actual high quality level, appreciated all over the world. In the 1882 studious Domenico Lampartico in "Studies and news about the agricoltural economy of Vicenza, Lonigo and Barbarano areas" spoke in this way about Gambellara ."I' ve to mention the particular wine growing in Gambellara, where it is done since a very long time that the area became very famous. In the 1947, driven by the wish to improve the quality of their wines, 26 enlighten grape growers founded the the Gambellara Winery.
